Grant Activity: Lecture, conduct research or propose a project combining both activities. Projects may include the establishment of new programs in New Zealand. Awards will not be made to applicants who intend to focus purely on conducting scientific research; applicants should propose ways to ensure interactions with the wider New Zealand society outside of school or department.
Specialization(s): Preference will be given to projects of mutual interest to scholars in New Zealand and the U.S. or to those who require access to specific individuals, materials or institutions unique to New Zealand.

Length of Grant: 3 months to 5 months
Starting Date: February 2010
Comments: Applicants must have a letter of invitation from a potential host institution. Full maintenance awards are granted to applicants who will not receive any financial support from their home or host institution. Grantees will always be selected first on the quality of the application. However, with applications of equal strength, applicants for partial maintenance awards may be given preference in order for Fulbright New Zealand to maximize the number of awards granted.
