Grant Activity: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in any discipline taught at the host university. Assist with curriculum development in a semester system, supervise graduate students and collaborate with faculty on research. Conduct research in area of specialization.
Specialization(s): Applications are encouraged for graduate level teaching in the following fields of particular interest: agricultural engineering, applied linguistics, environmental or human geography, library and information science or environmental sciences. Applications are also welcome in a wide range of other disciplines.
Location: Makerere University
Length of Grant: 10 months
Starting Date: August 2009
Comments: Candidates are encouraged to contact CIES and correspond directly with potential host departments to determine whether their disciplines and specializations are of interest. See www.makerere.ac.ug for the Makerere University Web site. In order to enhance the educational capacity at the relatively newer public and private universities in the country, awards are listed for seven other possible host institutions; preference is for applications to the awards at these institutions rather than for this award at Makerere University.
