The Fulbright Ambassador Program identifies, trains and engages a select group of Fulbright scholar alumni to serve as representatives for the Fulbright program at campus workshops and academic conferences across the United States. |

Received a Master’s degree in Middle East Area Studies from the University of Michigan. Following two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in community development in rural Eastern Turkey, shifted to a PhD in development economics from the University of Michigan with a dissertation on regional dynamics in Iran. Family obligations led to a shift to health economics which was largely pursued in Washington D.C.- based research and consulting firms. A Fulbright award to teach health economics in Uzbekistan followed by a shift to a multi-discipline research center focused on rural health care at the University of Washington’s Department of Family Medicine. Following retirement he is currently a visiting professor in Russian Eastern Europe and Central Asia Studies at the University of Washington’s Jackson School of International Studies.
