undertake program |
Interested U.S. institutions should submit an application to CIES. Fulbright Commissions or U.S. Embassies overseas conduct recruitment of potential applicants to become Fulbright Visiting Specialists. In mid June, CIES will convene a review meeting to select approximately 25 U.S. institutions to be recommended for funding by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State. In some cases, CIES may request institutions to make changes/improvements in their proposal and to re-submit a portion of their revised proposal. Applicant institutions will be notified of the final selection by the end of August.
When an application is approved for funding, CIES will communicate with the responsible faculty/staff members identified in the application. For the institutions which did not request a specific individual, CIES will provide the curriculum vitae, personal statements and summary sheets of applicants from overseas who are deemed most appropriate for their proposal. CIES will coordinate with the host institutions and confirm their final selections of Fulbright Visiting Specialists. For those which requested a specific individual, CIES will notify the responsible faculty/staff member of the review result on the specified individual. If the requested individual is not approved, CIES will provide the curriculum vitae, personal statements and summary sheets of the applicants from overseas whom review members deemed most appropriate for their proposal.
Pre-Submission Inquiries
CIES strongly encourages interested institutions to contact Global Programs at VSpecApp@cies.iie.org or contact us for consultation before starting the application process.
