Africa Higher Education Collaborative (AHEC)

< Overview

The pressing issues facing higher education in Africa suggest at least four broad themes for the AHEC.

  1. Improving equity and access to higher education through innovative financial mechanisms;
  2. Improving equity and access to higher education by reducing marginalization and addressing cultural barriers;
  3. Improving equity and access to higher education by improving individual readiness and institutional readiness and preparedness;
  4. Improving equity and access to higher education by improving delivery systems of higher education including pedagogy, methodologies and didactics;

As a result, four working groups have been formed. They are:

-> 1. Financial Resources/Mechanisms
-> 2. Marginalization, Social and Cultural Barriers
-> 3. Institutional and Individual Preparedness/Readiness
-> 4. Delivery Systems including pedagogy, methodologies and didactics
Role of Working Group Coordinators
The primary role of the Working Group Coordinator is to assure that the members of the working group maintain interaction throughout the program and develop collaborative objectives and projects.
