Fulbright Canada (The Foundation for Educational Exchange between Canada and the United States of America)
Fulbright Canada will host the first meeting of the 2012-13 Fulbright Regional NEXUS Scholar Program in Banff, Alberta in November 2012. Fulbright Canada was an active participant in the 2011-12 NEXUS program. Two Canadians, Dr. Sandy Ng and Dr. Patrick Feng, participated in an academic exchange in the United States, while Dr. Laura Forlano, of Cornell University, spent two months in Toronto. Fulbright Canada is pleased to host the first meeting of the 2012-13 Fulbright NEXUS Regional Scholars, creating an environment that will encourage collaboration and capture the creative capabilities of this outstanding group of applied researchers.
The Foundation for Educational Exchange between Canada and the United States of America (Fulbright Canada) is a bi-national, treaty-based, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization with a mandate to identify the best and brightest minds in both countries and engage them in residential academic exchange. Fulbright Canada, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, provides support to students, scholars, teachers, and independent researchers through a variety of programs that are open to individuals in all academic fields.
The mandate of Fulbright Canada is to enhance mutual understanding between the people of Canada and the people of the United States of America by providing support to outstanding and exceptional individuals. These individuals conduct research, lecture, and/or enroll in formal academic programs in the other country. In doing so, Fulbright Canada aims to grow intellectual capacity, increase productivity, and assist in the shaping of future leaders.
