Biography

 

Dr. Kelly completed a Ph.D. at Stanford University in 1988, and has been Professor and Coordinator of Instructional Technology at the George Mason University Graduate School of Education since 2000.  Prior to his position at George Mason University, Dr. Kelly was a Program Manager at the National Science Foundation in the Research and Communication Division of the Education and Human Resources Directorate.  He has also been a visiting professor at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and at University of California at Davis.  Dr. Kelly, and was an Assistant/Associate Professor in the Rutgers University Graduate School of Education from 1988 – 2000.  He has been involved in National Science Foundation Peer Review Panels, and is a member of the OECD International Scientific Advisory Group.  In 2003, Dr. Kelly was the George Mason University Nominee for the Virginia State Council of Higher Education’s SCHEV Outstanding Faculty Award.  Dr. Kelly’s research concerns teacher professional development and mathematics education.
