Comments: The Tuebinge Distinguished Chair is a new joint initiative of the Fulbright Commission in Berlin and the Eberhard Karls University Tuebinge. The Chair is suitable for scholars who have had little or no prior experience with Germany. It is not available to scholars who have had a grant to Germany within the past 5 years. The Eberhard Karls University Tuebinge has a strong American studies program and cooperates closely with the German-American Institute (DAI) in Tuebinge and the Baden-Wurttemberg branch of the Berlin American Academy. The American Studies program in Tuebinge is currently establishing a new integrative, interdisciplinary M.A. and Ph.D. program which, in addition to American literary and cultural studies, will include American history, political science, sociology, law, art history, media studies, etc. Hence, applications from all these as well as related disciplines are encouraged.
